Billy Bob Pottery

Using original drawings by the client, I translated the drawing into a digital asset to create a unique maker’s mark. The client has an interest in mid-century furnishings, architecture, and Japanese craftsmanship which was used to develop several concepts based on some product research in traditional makers stamps. I used Adobe Illustrator to trace the original image with a calligraphy-style brush.

The final result was an encased logo, with a bit of playful contrast between soft and hard lines, as a homage to Japanese pottery and craftsmanship. This final design was then sent to a craftsman who cut the design into a reusable brass stamp.
